Also available at the library and at home...HeritageQuest Online which provides access to 25,000 family and local histories, the complete U.S. Federal Census from 1790-1930, the Periodical Source Index (PERSI), and the Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files.
To access Heritage Quest from home, you must log in from the link located on the Champaign County Library's web page. You will be prompted for the barcode on your Champaign County Library card.
You are able to search the 1940 Census - visit the FamilySearch.org 1940 Census site for more information. Access is free.
We do not have a date for the completion of the digitization of the Urbana area newspapers. This project is being done at no cost to us, so paid projects get preferential treatment. When the newspapers are available online or we have further updates, we will be placing notices on this site, so please check back.
Please keep in mind that microfilm of the Urbana area newspapers are available on microfilm in the library's local history room.
